The Commissioning Journey

A Five-Stage Process

  1. Brief & Context

    We begin with the architecture, reviewing dimensions, ceiling height, spatial proportions, intended atmosphere and installation conditions.

  2. Specification

    Scale, suspension, finish, light source, controls and technical requirements are resolved before production begins.

  3. Bespoke Development

    Existing HDLS designs may be adapted in scale, suspension, materials or configuration, while original compositions may be developed for project-specific architectural requirements.

  4. Craft & Quality Control

    Each piece is produced in specialist workshops and reviewed through documented stages for material integrity, finish, structure and electrical compliance.

  5. Delivery & Aftercare

    HDLS coordinates insured international delivery, technical documentation and installation guidance, with continued support before and after delivery.

During Production

Visibility at Every Stage

Selected photographs and short videos document key stages as each piece progresses through fabrication, assembly and final inspection.

Before dispatch, the completed fixture is reviewed against the approved specification for finish, structural integrity, electrical requirements and presentation.

  1. Production Updates

    Selected progress photographs and short videos from key stages of production.

  2. Final QC Review

    Finish, structure and electrical specification are reviewed before the completed piece is released for dispatch.

  3. Dispatch Documentation

    Completed-fixture records and relevant shipping documentation are prepared before collection.

Delivery & Project Support

Coordinated Beyond the Workshop

HDLS coordinates insured international delivery and, where specified, manages duties and customs arrangements in advance.

Technical documentation, installation preparation and post-delivery support remain available throughout the project.

Lighting supplied for private residences, residential developments, hospitality environments and commercial interiors across the United Kingdom, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
