Luxury Classical Chandeliers: Rococo, Regency, Empire & Louis XVI
Luxury classical chandeliers draw on distinct European decorative traditions, including Rococo, Regency, Empire, Louis XVI and Neoclassical design. The HDLS Classical Collection interprets these recognised design languages for contemporary residential and hospitality projects, offering architects, interior designers and private clients different approaches to ornament, proportion, materials and architectural scale.
From highly decorative statement chandeliers to more restrained crystal compositions, each style offers a distinct character for clients sourcing or specifying classical lighting for grand interiors.
Luxury Rococo Chandeliers
Rococo chandeliers are recognised for expressive curves, scrolling ornament, botanical detailing and a sense of movement that distinguishes them from more formally symmetrical classical designs. Their sculptural character makes them particularly suited to formal salons, reception rooms, grand staircases and double-height foyers, where the chandelier is intended to become a defining architectural feature.
Within the HDLS Classical Collection, Rococo-influenced designs range from ornate gold-plated chandeliers to elaborate crystal compositions and large-scale pieces created for substantial ceiling heights.

Regency Crystal Chandeliers
Regency crystal chandeliers combine classical proportion with elegant metalwork, balanced silhouettes and carefully arranged crystal. More restrained than Rococo yet still highly decorative, Regency designs offer a refined option for interiors requiring traditional character without excessive ornament.
HDLS Regency chandeliers are particularly suited to formal dining rooms, drawing rooms, entrance halls and luxury residences. Selected designs can also be adapted in scale, suspension and configuration for individual project requirements.

Empire & Neoclassical Chandeliers
Empire and Neoclassical chandeliers favour symmetry, architectural order and strong, disciplined proportions. Their structured compositions create a more monumental character, making them especially appropriate for spaces where scale and formality are central to the architecture.
These chandeliers work particularly well in grand foyers, stair halls, reception rooms, period residences and luxury hospitality interiors. Gold, bronze and crystal detailing can provide visual richness while retaining the clarity associated with Neoclassical design.

Louis XVI Crystal Chandeliers
Louis XVI chandeliers are characterised by refined symmetry, classical motifs and controlled ornament. Their ordered decorative language offers a natural bridge between highly ornamental Rococo design and the more architectural character of later Neoclassical styles.
Crystal detailing, gilded finishes and elegant multi-arm compositions make Louis XVI-inspired chandeliers suitable for formal dining rooms, salons, entrance halls, drawing rooms and heritage properties, as well as renovated contemporary interiors where classical lighting provides contrast against restrained architecture.

French Classical Chandeliers
French classical chandeliers form an important part of the HDLS collection, drawing on decorative influences associated with Rococo, Louis XVI, Neoclassical and Empire design. Rather than reproducing one historical period, HDLS interprets these traditions through contemporary scale, materials and project requirements.
This approach allows classical chandeliers to be specified within both heritage interiors and contemporary luxury residences, where the chandelier may provide the principal decorative focal point within an otherwise restrained architectural setting.

Large Classical Chandeliers for Staircases & Double-Height Foyers
For interiors with substantial ceiling heights, chandelier scale becomes an architectural consideration as much as a decorative one. The HDLS Classical Collection includes large classical chandeliers for grand staircases, double-height foyers, entrance halls and formal reception spaces, with selected designs available in dimensions suited to large residential and hospitality projects.
Proportion, suspension length, viewing height and overall chandelier diameter can be considered in relation to the architecture so that the fitting carries sufficient presence without overwhelming the space.

Bespoke Classical Chandeliers for Grand Interiors
Selected HDLS classical chandeliers are made to order and can be adapted for individual residential, hospitality and interior design projects. Depending on the design, project requirements may include modifications to diameter, overall body height, suspension length, finish and lighting configuration.
HDLS supports architects, interior designers, developers, procurement teams and private clients with guidance on chandelier scale, ceiling height, dimensions and specification. Technical drawings and project information can also be provided where required.
Existing chandeliers can therefore be specified in their standard configuration or adapted to better suit the proportions and architectural requirements of a particular interior.
